Fried tomatoes in a frying pan with garlic

STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients according to the list. Tomatoes for such a dish need to be dense and fleshy, so that when fried they do not turn into tomato puree. You can fry tomatoes with garlic not only in vegetable oil, but also as a healthier option - in olive oil, and in butter - it will be more flavorful, but also higher in calories.
STEP 2

Wash the tomatoes, let the water drain or dry with paper towels. Cut the tomatoes into slices about one centimeter thick. Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan. Heat it well, place the tomato slices on the heated oil. Reduce the heat to medium, fry the tomatoes on one side for about two minutes, without covering the pan with a lid, otherwise the tomatoes will release juice and you will get tomato paste.
STEP 3

While the tomatoes are roasting, prepare the garlic. Peel the garlic cloves from their membranes and cut them into thin slices. Garlic will give this dish an appetizing aroma and piquant taste.
STEP 4

Carefully turn the tomato slices over in the pan with a spatula. They should be slightly browned on both sides.
STEP 5

Add cooked garlic, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Keep the vegetables on the fire for another 3-4 minutes; you can cover the pan with a lid for a couple of minutes so that the garlic releases its juice and makes the oil more aromatic.
STEP 6

But we don’t keep the lid on the pan for a long time so that the tomatoes don’t start to “spread.” Carefully place the tomatoes and garlic in the pan so that the tomatoes absorb the aromatic oil. Turn off the fire.
STEP 7

Remove the tomatoes and garlic from the frying pan, place them on a plate, and sprinkle finely chopped fresh herbs on top of the dish. If desired, this dish can be served with any sauce to taste or mayonnaise, meat addition and fresh bread. This dish is delicious both hot and cold, but, of course, tomatoes and garlic are more flavorful when they are warm. Bon appetit!
